2 Answers. Sorted by: 1. I installed Windows 7 from a USB HDD because my USB CDROM drive didn't work. Here's how I did it: create a partition on my USB HDD slightly bigger than my CDROM (i.e. 4GB)

(4) Click Create. Once the process is complete, reboot your PC, set your BIOS or UEFI Boot Menu to boot from USB, and then proceed to boot your computer.
